N'Dea Davenport a fait ses débuts au sein du groupe The Brand New Heavies, avant d'entamer une carrière solo.Récapitulatif de ce groupe : les Brand New Heavies sont des fous du groove avec cuivres étincelants, choeurs parfaits et mélodies joyeuses.Tout commence en Angleterre dans le quartier d'Ealing à Londres en 1985.Leur premier album éponyme voit le jour en 1990.N'Dea Davenport fait son apparition à partir de ce moment-là.Leur nouveau label pour les Etats-Unis les pousse à réenregistrer leur album avec cette nouvelle chanteuse.Les hits s'enchaînent avec Dream Come True, Stay This Way et surtout Never Stop.Leur expérience américaine influence fortement leur deuxième album Heavy Rhyme Experience sorti en 1992.Ils s'adjoignent les services de rappeurs tels que Gang Starr, Main Source, Grand Pubba ou The Pharcyde.Le dernier album auquel N'Dea Davenport participe, Brother Sister, reçoit le même accueil en 1994.Elle décide alors de poursuivre sa route en solo, avec un premier album éponyme, qui sort en 1998.

N’Dea Davenport began in the band named The Brand New Heavies. This band, fan of groove began in London in 1985. Their first album has been released in 1990. At this time, they found a new label, from America, which persuade them to record again the album with N’Dea Davenport. Then hits hanged together, like “Dream Come True”, “Stay This Way” and “Never Stop”. Their American experience influenced their 2^nd album, “Heavy Rhyme Experience”, out in 1992. They collaborated with rappers, such as Gangstarr, Main Source, Grand Pubba or The Pharcyde. The 3^rd one, “Brother Sister”, received the same success. Then N’Dea Davenport took the decision to carry on alone, with a first album, eponymous, out in 1998.
