BIOGRAPHY
The 1st Lp titled "Gutter Water" maked no bones about its aesthetic: drums smothered in soot, scratches and eccentric and ominous samples snatched from crates around the globe. The 2nd Lp will be released in early 2012 "Vodka & Ayahuasca". Cop them on stage with DJ Mishaps for an exlusive grimey smokey show !

ALCHEMIST: After rising to prominence in the late 1990s as a close associate of Dilated Peoples and Mobb Deep, he went on to produce for many of hip hop's leading artists in the 2000s, and has been hailed as one of the genre's leading producers. He is currently working w/ Eminem as his DJ.
OHNO: the youngest brother of Madlib is an underground hip hop legend from Oxnard who has released several albums on Stones Throw Records.
Vodka & Ayahuasca is a follow-up to their grittyDecon debut Gutter Water. Al & Oh again split theirtime between helming psychedelic beats and spittingtripped-out rhymes. While Ayahuasca (a naturalhallucinogenic brew, containing DMT) may not be aterm familiar to the palette of the average rapconsumer, Gangrene is about to change all that. Vodka& Ayahuacsa boasts choice collabs from Kool G Rap, Prodigy (of MobbDeep), dilated ally Evidence, Roc Marciano, who laces the suggestive“Drink Up”,a welcome addition to the kaleidoscopic head-trip. Out Jan24th !

Après un premier album acclamé par la critique, Gutter Water, et une grosse tournée européenne en 2011, The Alchemist & Oh No, a.k.a GANGRENE sont de retour sur le continent pour présenter le second volet de leur trip psychédélique, VODKA & AYAHUASCA. The Alchemist : Après avoir cartonné à la fin des années 90 grâce à son travail avec, entre autres, Mobb Deep, Delated People ou Cypress Hill, il se met produire la décennie suivante pour les plus gros artistes hip-hop, devenant ainsi l’un des DJ/producteur majeur du genre. Il est actuellement le DJ officiel d’Eminem.
Oh No : Le petit frère de Madlib est une figure du hip-hop underground. Avec quatre albums concept à son actif, et de nombreuses collaborations prestigieuses tel que De La Soul, Murs, Juggaknots ou Wildchild, Oh No est un des artistes majeurs du label Stone Throw.
Vodka & Ayahuasca est la suite de leur premier album Gutter Water, sorti sur Decon. Al & Oh mettent à nouveau tout leur talent dans la production de beats psychés et l’écriture de rimes barrées. Et bien que l’Ayahuasca (une boisson hallucinogène traditionnelle d’Amérique du sud), ne soit pas encore un produit habituel dans le large registre des divers consommations de rappeurs, Gangrene a bien l’intention de changer tout cela ! Vodka & Ayahuasca peut s’enorgueillir de collaborations avec Kool G Rap, Prodigy (Mobb Deep), Evidence (Dilated People) et Roc Marciano, avec son « Drink Up », ingrédient suplémentaire au cocktail déjà bien chargé !
